GOAL
Place 7 stones of your color into the High Garden to win.
SETUP
Colors are assigned at random. 10 stones of each color are automatically placed in their Home
Gardens (the long side fields) on the lower level.
GAMEPLAY
White moves first. Players alternate turns.
MOVEMENT
On your first turn, pick 1–5 stones of your color to move as a group. As you move, drop the lowest
stone on each field you enter. Stones move horizontally or vertically — not diagonally, and not
backwards. You may drop multiple stones on the same field. Direct back-and-forth between two fields
in a single move is not allowed.
STACKING
Stacking extra stones onto a field is only allowed in your own Home Garden or in the opposing High
Garden, and only with stones of your own color.
CAPTURING
Drop one of your stones onto an opponent's stone to capture it. The color on top of a stack is in
control and may use the stones below for future movement. Stones are safe from capture while inside
any Home Garden or High Garden.
TOWER RULES
A tower cannot exceed 5 stones. A field with a full tower (5 stones) is inaccessible to all other
stones.
STAIRCASES
Two staircases connect Home Gardens to High Gardens. When stones enter a Home Garden, the turn ends
immediately. Between turns, stones matching the staircase color that hold the majority in a Home
Garden pass through automatically to the High Garden.
Example: Black places 4 stones in White's Home Garden (White has 2 there). Black's turn ends — 2
Black stones rise to the High Garden. White moves out with their 2 stones. White's turn ends —
the remaining 2 Black stones also rise.
SPECIAL RULE
If a player cannot make any move, they select a tower containing their color and place those stones
on top of that tower.
WINNING
The first player to successfully place 7 stones of their color in the High Garden wins.
